DXTory help Empty
PostSubject: DXTory help   DXTory help Icon_minitimeTue Sep 02, 2014 6:14 pm

Hey all I wasn't too sure where to put this but i need a little help with DXTory, and i though the Homeloaf might be able to give me some valuable info.

in short I can't get the write speed of my footage of 1080p above 15-18 FPS, I'm recording onto and external HDD with DXTory saying the write speed is 109 MBs.
The game can still run at about 60FPS and i don't have this trouble with Fraps. (Before you ask, I want to use DXTory for the multiple sound sources thing)
if you think it might be my pc specs.
CPU: AMD FX 6300
GPU: AMD Radeon R9270X 2Gb
RAM: 8GB DDR3
HDDs: 2TB @7200 HDD, 160GB @5400 HDD & 1TB USB HDD

Any help would be massively appreciated, thanks.

I unfortunately cannot help specifically with regards to DXTory, but I can at least attempt to provide an alternative: have you tried using Open Broadcaster Software (OBS) before?

I'm not sure entirely what the purpose of you using DXTory is, but you can use OBS to not only stream, but also record locally. The settings are highly customizable as well. Additionally, if the purpose of having multiple sound sources is so that you can record yourself on a mic and output the sound of a game/program at the same time, OBS can facilitate that.

Regardless of that suggestion, we can still look into why you might be having some issues

Let's delve a bit more into your recording situation: what exactly are you trying to record? What is the resolution of the game that you are trying to record, and what are the various settings of the game that you are trying to record? Given that your CPU is a AMD FX 6300, your CPU benchmarks respectably well and you claim it runs well in FRAPS. There might be another underlying issue here.

thanks for the help, I'll certainly look into OBS a bit more but the reason i wanted to use DXTory is the fact that it allow me to record game audio and skype onto sepArate tracks using different sound cards without having to use another computer/ laptop.
