Greetings slices! Smile

So here's the thing: as a beginner in music production as a whole (I am mainly a guitar/bass guitar player), I always wanted to get the hardware necessary to get into producing, so I can finally put my ideas somewhere

I finally got my paycheck from my summer job, and although I put most of it aside for later, I can use some of it for this, as I think I waited long enough already.

So yeah, basically, if there is anyone in here who could give me (and perhaps other slices in the same situation) advices on what to buy first (let us say with a budget of 200 to 250€), it would be greatly appreciated! cat
The main use for this hardware will be to record and mix my guitar playing with electro-ish sounds and samples, trying to get actual tracks out of it (after a long while of learning how to do it, but that's my problem).

Any help will be welcome! Razz

Thanks in advance, and have a good day/night ! albino
(PS: please forgive me if you spot a mistake, be it grammar or anything, I am trying to improve my English everyday, but I can't seem to spot my own mistakes...  silent )

Maybe something like the Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 interface. That has two recording inputs and has great quality outputs so you can invest in headphones or even monitor speakers at a later date.

If you're looking to record guitar, you definitely need an audio interface. I also recommend Focusrite. I've got a Saffire 6, but I hear good things about the Scarlett series as well.

Honestly though, the most important thing you'll need is software. Reaper is a great, cheap DAW that I've heard is good for recording as well as other things. That's what you'll need for adding samples and stuff like that, unless you want a more live-based setup, in which case I'd suggest Native Instruments' Maschine.

If you're looking to get more into EDM-production, or any digital production really, a great tip is to get a MIDI-keyboard. It's not necessary, but it'll help with speeding up the process. I'm looking into getting one myself pretty soon, after roughly 4 years of producing I feel like it's a step in the right direction.
