Hey homeloaf! I have this piece to share which I originally wrote for my Music GCSE (where we were required to compose 2 pieces at least 64 bars long) and this is the re-recorded/produced version of it. It takes heavy inspiration from (and is named after an episode of) the Anime series Cowboy Bebop, which if you haven't heard of, you should totally check out the soundtrack , and I would really like some advice on how to get my guitar to sound better just using software plugins (since my amp doesn't sound too great when mic'ed up). Anyway, hope you guys like it!

I like it, its got a good vibe to it.

It really, really suits the title of the track, and everything quite well done, my only complaint about it is with all the reverb everything begins to drown everything else out. Aside from that its quite well written and recorded, how long have you been song writing for?

Thanks! I guess I've been making music since I was about 12, but only in the last year or two have I written anything that I'm still proud of today.
(you're totally right with the reverb as well)

First of all, you're awesome because you know Cowboy Bebop.
The melody in that song is awesome, but I don't really agree with the guitar's sound... Too much crunchy and sounds out of tune sometimes. Are you recording with a mic on the front of your amp ?
If yes, and you want a clean sound for the moment that you don't have the good mics to record your amp, you can use Guitar Rig or Amplitube, these are VSTs of amp simulating, and sounds very good.

By the way, I can hear the big influence of Cowboy Bebop, and it's just awesome ! Keep it up Wink

Thanks again! I was using the free version of amplitube, but I just found some free plugins which might help a bit, and listening back to it, I kinda agree with you that there's a bit too much crunch.
But I really appreciate that you think I captured the feeling of the show quite well!
