| Geting know each other is cool thing, and I've already noticed that some of you are trying to write some stuff, so there's questien: what forced you to start it? Is there any special event or person that showed you, that you have some abilitis to do it, are you read a lot and you just thought you should try it? | |

| I started writing in 5th grade when we were given a topic to write about a female that we looked up to and a song associated with them. They were then entered into a city-wide contest for prizes. As you may have guessed, I won first place. I was then honored by the mother of the person I wrote about and the essay spread like wildfire. I gained confidence then to start writing fiction stories (as that was my favorite genre to read at the time), and that's where I am today. As far as my poetry, in 6th grade we spent about a month or two on poetry and I was told by my peers and by the teacher that I had a gift in writing poetry. When I get extremely emotional about a topic, I tend to write a poem. So yeah, that's me. I hope to hear some other stories from fellow homeslice authors! | |

| I wrote my first book when I was in the 4th grade. My reason was pretty simple, I used to be obsessed with the Goosebump books by R.L. Stine. Actually the illustrator for those books lived down the street from me and still lives in my hometown in New Jersey. But anyway, I wanted to write my own Goosebump style book so I did, haha. I haven't written in quite some time now but I was just talking to AJ about maybe getting into it again since the internet offers so many options for getting your work out there. | |

| About me it's a little bit funny. I was always the less creative person in class and I couldn't write anything by myself. I needed my parents help even in simple letter in my native language. And 2 years ago I red "Metro 2033" novel. Then I was like "Whua, no chances I'm not giving this world part of me". I wrote something for the competition and I won. And I felt I really like it. Than everything started. I destroyed invisible wall of lazines, becouse of which I couldn't write anything. Then I became the best in class. The one, that for 1 page letter homework writes 5 becouse have so large idea that can't stop only at one. Today it's like the only thing I think I can do anyway, even thou I'm pretty good at school. | |

| I've always been fairly 'good' at writing as from when I was a little kid, I usually ended up in the top 5 every year in a writing contest our school took part in. Every time we had to write an essay, or complete a story the teachers were amazed by how good it was writtten. I always had a lot of spare time in high school so that's when I started to write stories, and my friends and family always supported me, and it basically just took off from there.

| I had teachers in the fifth grade who inspired me. They always liked the essays I did in class and told me I'd make a great writer. Since then, I've worked on stories (of which very few are finished). I started with Harry Potter fanfiction and branched out to original works. :3 | |

| I knew I'd be a writer when I was two years old, and I took note of all my experiences from then on so I could write my autobiography in great detail. Since then, I've just been refining my skills and building my platform. I've coauthored two cookbooks and several Christian apologetics curricula sourcebooks, so those are published. Right now I'm working on editing my first inspirational non-fiction book (the first draft is finished). | |

| Because I needed a way to vent my anger, without hurting anyone.
I'd elaborate more, but that's basically it.

| I started writing in the 2nd grade, mostly as class assignments. This included a couple of one-of-a-kind books made in class. Most of the things I write are things I just keep to myself.
That being said, I have a couple of things posted on the SCP Foundation site. At some point, I'll get some proper inspiration to write something for them again.

| I was always writing stories throughout primary school and trying to beat my class by being the quickest to think of a story and the fastest at writing it. I started to loose that creativity at the start of Highschool but in my last couple of years I started reading books again and dissecting some of my favourite authors so I started to write again and decided that I wanted to be a journalist. In my first year of college my friend told be about NaNoWriMo (national Novel Writing Month) and I've been doing it every year for the past 4 years now. Right now I'm still in University studying to become a journalist and work freelance for an online magazine reviewing comic books. I've got an idea for a short story that I'm going to be working on with my friend over the next few weeks. | |

| Outside of my education, the writing I do is for a Pokémon play-by-post RP. I was browsing TV Tropes back in 2011 and came across a project on it called The Pokédex Extended Fanon Edition. I started hanging around the (rather slow) chatroom for it and saw that PEFE had a connection to this RP called We Are All Pokémon Trainers but the page for it on TVT looked confusing. In late December that year, one of the other PEFE guys who went to the chat joined WAAPT and mentioned it, and hearing about his character being a high priest of Giratina I thought "I've got to check this thing out". I made my first post there on 3 January 2012 after being in the WAAPT chat for a bit and I've been a part of it ever since. I also run a wiki for it now which I really need to go apply the latest patchfile to. | |

| I've been writing since I remember. I started with copying fairy-tales and action movies in age of 5 or 6. But I was 14 or 15 when I started to take writing seriously and tried to get my own stuff better and better. And I am trying to this day . I started writing action things, continue through horrors and I've ended up in fantasy/sci-fi mixes where I don't care if robots are in medieaval era or something like that. I've succesfully won one competition and I am on good posts in others. I am editor of fantasy/sci-fi/comics web and I hope I will be able to write more and more in the future. Though I don't want to be writer. I just really enjoy writing and it's part of my life. | |

| Mine is a bit of a gross sob-story, really. I always loved writing. I loved creative writing courses in school and I excelled in them but I was always a little nervous to write for fun. You know: the self-criticism monster.
But my best friend, Matthew, who also loved to write, inspired me to write more often. I was still really reluctant to write and share with friends, but he loved everything I created.
Going in to grade 9 (7 years ago), he ended up committing suicide and I was devastated. I stopped writing all together. But about a month after his death his parents gave me the note he left and it had a part dedicated to me. It was very inspirational and I started to write again. That note to this day makes me want to write to make him proud.
